Get a Library Card

Contents[Hide]

All residents (age 18 and older) of the Shelter Rock Public Library District may obtain or renew a library card by showing two current forms of identification (see list below).

For patrons 5-18, a parent must present two current forms of identification. If minor has a current report card or college transcript with the student's name and address, then the parent is only required to present one form of identification. School ID will be used to verify 9th grade eligibility for borrowing DVDs.

Each form of identification must show the same address located within the boundaries of the District. If you are unsure if your address is in the District, please call the Library (248-7363 and press 5 for the Circulation Department), ask the staff at the Circulation Desk or consult your tax bill.

Reserving Books

Reserving books, either with the help of a Library staff member or through your library account from a computer, is an easy way to get on the list for bestsellers and obtain books and materials that are not immediately available at Shelter Rock. We want to remind you that materials are automatically "linked" with a specific library card. Books and other materials MUST be picked up with the card on which the reserve was placed. If you plan on picking up an item that was reserved on another person's library card, please remember to bring that person's card with you when you come to the Library.
