The Art of Isamu Noguchi

download 1Isamu Noguchi was a sculptor, designer, landscape architect, and craftsman. As a pre-med student at Columbia University, he began taking sculpture classes on New York's Lower East Side. Thanks to Guggenheim Fellowship, Noguchi was able to go to Paris in 1927 and work in Brancusi's studio. Under Brancus's influence, Noguchi turned to modernism. In 1985, he opened the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum in Long Island City, New York.
