January 2019: Online Registration For Teens

In order to register for all Teen Programs, including Community Service, you will need a library card. To register online, go to our events calendar, scroll to the date of the program you want to register for and click on the green register button. 

If you do not have a library card, please come to the library so that we may assist you in obtaining one. You will need to show two forms of current identification with your name and address to apply for a card.

TAB Meeting

TAB meetings for registered Teen Advisory Board members are on:

Our Teen Advisory Board is a dedicated group who works together with the YA Librarian to improve the library services for teens.

Valentines for Vets

Friday, January 4th from 4:15 to 5:30 PM

ValentinesForVetsTeens will make homemade Valentines for Veterans who have served our country and are currently hospitalized. This is a great time to show our appreciation to service members who have fought to keep us safe. You may also donate a small item a veteran can use such as toiletries, hats, gloves or socks.

Letters Against Depression

Tuesday, January 8th from 7-8 PM

word happy written sand 24049717Join us as we write letters of hope and support to deliver to individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses as part of the Letters Against Depression Organization. This special program will be led by the YA Librarian and a member of the SRPL TAB group.

Candy Bag Tote

With Green Earth Crafts

Tuesday, January 15th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM

Each teen will create a tote bag made from re-purposed candy bags, duct tape and felt to be donated to children living in shelters. In addition, each teen will be able to create their own candy bag tote. Teens are encouraged to bring empty candy bag wrappers for this program. Leslie from Green Earth Crafts will guide you in this project.

Are You Smarter Than a 4th or 5th Grader?

Join the YA and Children's Librarians for the Wii Edition of the popular game show. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Children, grades 4 and 5, will take on teens grades 6-12 in this competition game. Compete for prizes and enjoy snacks at the same time!

Retro Gaming Night
